Ironfest Jousting 2009

May 25, 2009

Lithgow's annual Ironfest event provided an exciting opportunity to train a video camera upon some violence. Held over the weekend of April 25/26, Ironfest's star attractions were a medieval jousting tournament and a re-enactment of a Napoleonic battle.

The jousting tournament was contested over three rounds which provided the chance to shoot from three different positions and try to make it all work together. The riders all looked fantastic in beautifully detailed shiny suits of armour. And then they started hitting eachother with sticks.

But most of all, who can resist a nice tribute to John Boorman's "Excalibur"?
